In a wine region autumn months are all about the harvest, but that doesn\u2019t mean one should forget about events offering some relaxation. Musical, cultural and gastronomic programmes, wine tastings, merry festivals and serious professional events will add variety to this autumn.<\/p>\n

\nFranc & Franc International Forum and Tasting Day<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The first FRANC&FRANC international conference and tasting day was organized in 2015 as an event symbolizing the unity of Vill\u00e1ny winemakers and it also hosted Cabernet Franc producers and their wines from the Loire region. Over the years, all the major European and New World Cabernet Franc producing regions had the opportunity to represent themselves at a professional event focusing on the variety, bringing together people who believe in Cabernet Franc and make varietal wines from it.<\/p>\n

The most prestigious trade and public event in the Vill\u00e1ny wine region this year takes a tour of the world, showcasing a wide spectrum of Cabernet Francs from outstanding wine regions. The theme of the event will also provide an opportunity to incorporate the experience and the presentation of the TOP wines of the Franc du Monde, a major wine competition that will be held for the first time in 2022, into the programme of the trade and the public day.<\/p>\n

\nRolling Through Harvest Vineyards<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Roll through the beautiful landscapes of the Vill\u00e1ny wine region, admire the vineyards in autumn colours and discover the traditional wine villages from Vill\u00e1ny to Sikl\u00f3s. Delicious refreshments and snacks await you at each stop.<\/p>\n

Choose from three routes (17 km, 20 km, 30 km) and experience the wine country atmosphere at each stop. Stops to visit: 10:00 – 17:00, do it at your own pace, in the order of the stops.<\/p>\n

\nVILL\u00c1NY RED WINE FESTIVAL<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Red Wine Festival is the biggest gastronomic festival of the Vill\u00e1ny wine region. For three days, from Friday to Sunday, events will take place from the wine cellars to the Event Square, where, in addition to various musical performances, folk shows and the harvest parade, cultural and gastronomic delights await the visitors. Of course, the best wines of the region are also on offer for visitors to taste.<\/p>\n

The Vill\u00e1ny Red Wine Festival is not only the biggest celebration of wine culture, wineries and quality red wines, but its family programmes and activities for young and old alike have made it one of the region’s most important tourist events over the past decade.<\/p>\n

\nTHE 11th EDITION OF THE VILL\u00c1NY PREMIUM WINE TASTING AND THE 26th EDITION OF THE EUROPEAN WINE SONG FESTIVAL<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 26th European Wine Song Festival will take place between 23-25 September, and will feature the B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k Male Choir as hosts, the Zolt\u00e1n V\u00e1s\u00e1rhelyi Male Choir from Budapest, the S\u00e4ngerrunde Kritzendorf from Austria, the Albino Bonavita Male Choir from Italy, the P\u00e9cs Symphonietta, the Zeng\u0151 Ensemble, the Misina Folk Dance Ensemble and the P\u00e9csi \u00c9rcb\u00e1ny\u00e1sz Concert Wind Orchestra. The star guests of the event, which is in its 29th year, will be the Sim\u00e1ndy Prize-winning tenor and soloist of the Hungarian State Opera House, Istv\u00e1n Horv\u00e1th, the soprano, Kinga Kriszta, and the baritone, Szabolcs Bogn\u00e1r.<\/p>\n

On the first day of the three-day event, 23 September, the Vill\u00e1ny Wine Region welcomes the performers. At 18:00, the bands will perform at the Wine Songs of Nations programme on Di\u00f3f\u00e1s Square, followed by cellar concerts in the villages of the Vill\u00e1ny-Sikl\u00f3s Wine Route from 19:00. The V\u00e1s\u00e1rhelyi Zolt\u00e1n Male Choir will perform at 19:00 in the Attila Gere Old Cellar, and admission to the event is free!<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Saturday, the P\u00e9cs audience can also hear the singers at a gala concert at the Kod\u00e1ly Centre. In the first half of the concert, the festival performers will entertain the audience with wine songs, and in the second half, the audience will hear the premiere of S\u00e1ndor Balatoni’s Carmina Vinorum, a “Wine Oratorio” featuring the B\u00e9la Bart\u00f3k Male Choir, the P\u00e9cs Symphonietta and Szabolcs Bogn\u00e1r.<\/p>\n

The gala will be preceded by the 11th Vill\u00e1ny Premium Wine Tasting. This year, ten Vill\u00e1ny wineries will present their best wines in the lobby of the Kod\u00e1ly Centre: Bock Winery, Cs\u00e1nyi Winery, Attila Gere Winery, Tam\u00e1s and Zsolt Gere Winery, Csaba Koch, VinArt Winery, R\u00f3bert Maczk\u00f3 Winery, Mokos Cellars, Sauska Winery and the Vill\u00e1ny REDy Association stand.<\/p>\n
